One shade on a window, or two under one top cover: both are Covr. Press the remote, tap your phone, or let a timer run it. The motor and its battery sit inside the tube, and we set up the remote, the hub, the app and your automations.
How a Covr shade works
One tube, with the motor inside it. No cords, no chain, no spring. Fewer parts, less to go wrong.
- Top cover. Hides the roll, so you never see it. On a dual shade like this one, it hides both.
- Motor and battery. Both sit inside the tube. The lithium-ion battery runs 3 to 6 months on a charge when new, depending on the size of the shade and how much you use it.
- USB-C port. The solar panel plugs in here. Most windows can take a panel. On one that cannot, plug the shade into the wall with the long cable that comes with it. A full charge takes about 6 hours and is good for 3 to 6 months when new.
- Solar panel. A slim black bar at the top of the glass.
- Fabric. Solar screen, light filtering or blackout. A dual shade, like this one, has two.Pick one to see it on the model.
- Remote, wall switch and hub. Bedrooms get a wall switch by the bed. Other rooms get a handheld remote. The Wi-Fi hub comes with your shades. They use , the standard built for smart homes.
Sleep in the dark. Wake up to the sun.
- 7:00 amBedroom shades open. You wake up to the sun.
- 2:00 pmThe sunny side lowers to cut the glare.
- 9:00 pmEvery shade closes for the night.
We set the times with you at install. You can change them in the app.
Morning light sets your body clock. In a sleep study, people woken by slowly rising light felt less sleepy and more alert than on a dark morning. In a study of children, the ones who got bright light earlier in the day fell asleep faster at night.
People buy lamps that fake a sunrise. Yours is the real one.
Privacy and heat? Covered.
Those are the basics, and we have them covered. We help you pick the right fabric for each room, so you never end up with a shade that is wrong for the window.

More on the solar screen
- It blocks much of the sun's heat and still lets in the daylight.
- In white, it looks like frosted glass. Other colors tint the light.
- The fabric is tough, and it wipes clean.
Shades that save energy by themselves.
The U.S. Department of Energy says about 30% of a home's heating energy is lost through its windows. In summer, about 76% of the sunlight that lands on a standard double-pane window comes in as heat. It also says three out of four window coverings stay in the same position every day.
- Covr moves by itself. Down at the hours the sun is on that side, down when you leave, and up when you want the light.
- A dual shade is two layers. Two fabrics, and the air between them, stand between you and the glass.

Same shades and fabrics as Covr. The difference is the lift: Covr has a motor and comes with everything included; cordless you lift and lower by hand, and extras are paid.
Stays right where you leave it. It does not spring back up.
You move it by hand. Pull the bottom rail down, or lift it, and a clutch inside the tube holds it right where you leave it.
- No cords and no chain to hang down
- No motor and no battery, so nothing to charge
- No remote, no app and no timers. For those, pick Covr.
- Solar screen, light filtering or blackout fabric
- Measured and installed by us

- A price from your own sizes is exact for those sizes. A price from photos is an estimate until we measure.
- The final measure sets the sizes.
- Sales tax, where it applies, is not in these prices.

Questions
Do I need a smart home to use these?
No. Covr comes with a remote or a wall switch for every room, a Wi-Fi hub and a phone app. That is all you need.
Will they work with the smart home I already have?
Our motorized shades use , the standard built for smart homes. Tell us what you use at your consult and we set it up with you.
Who sets up the app and the automations?
We do. Before we leave, your remote, hub, app, scenes and automations are working.
What does it cost?
We give you a price over the phone. You do not have to book a consult to get one. Send the Get a price form and we text or call you. If you want a consult after that, you can set it up on the same call or text thread.
Do you have blackout shades?
Yes. We have blackout fabric for any room.
How are the shades charged?
Each motor has a built-in lithium-ion battery and a USB-C port. On most windows a solar panel plugs into that port. The panel is included on any window where one fits. Where one does not fit, with the long cable that comes with it. A full charge takes about 6 hours and runs 3 to 6 months when new, depending on the size of the shade and how much you use it. The solar panel is not covered by the Covr limited warranty, except a panel that does not work at install is replaced. If one stops working later, the cable still charges your shade, and you can call us to buy a new panel.
What are the shades made of?
A roller shade is one tube with the fabric rolled around it. Covr and cordless use the same fabrics. Solar screen: cuts the glare, keeps the view. The fabric is tough, and it wipes clean. Light filtering: glows with daylight. No view through. Blackout: stops the light that comes through the fabric. Covr: the motor and its battery sit inside the tube. Cordless: a clutch inside the tube holds it right where you leave it.
What about privacy and heat?
Covered. We go through each room with you and steer you to the right fabric, so you do not pick something that will not do the job.
I already have a quote from someone else. Can you look at it?
Yes. Upload it here and we send you a comparable from us.
Can I read the warranty and the order agreement before I buy?
Yes. Read both , also at coverblinds.com/warranty, and the order agreement every buyer signs, with our 4 business day cancellation policy. Your rep has copies too.
How do I make a warranty claim?
